International Educational Conference
"Climate Talks"

We are delighted to announce the successful commencement of the "Climate Talks" international educational conference at Nazarbayev University. Organized by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in collaboration with the Office of Sustainable Development at Nazarbayev University, the Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the National Conservation Initiative Corporate Fund, this conference aims to raise awareness among the youth about global climate change consequences and the world's efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to climate change.

The conference adopts a hybrid format, welcoming over 100 participants, including students, young researchers, climate experts, government representatives, and members of civil society organizations. It serves as a platform for fruitful discussions, knowledge exchange, and networking among national and international stakeholders working towards a sustainable future.

Think Global, Act Local
Additionally, the conference hosts a student exhibition titled "Think Global, Act Local," showcasing innovative green projects developed by students. These projects include recycling plastic and glass into construction materials, converting used oil into biodiesel, generating electricity with a bicycle trainer, vermicomposters for biohumus production, energy consumption monitoring applications, electric attachments for wheelchairs, hydroponic systems for cultivating fresh greens, and much more.

Climate Talks Brings Together Leading Scientists and Environmentalists
The event brought together the efforts of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), NU Office for Sustainable Development, Kazakh Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources and the National Conservation Initiative Corporate Foundation.
